Introduction & Background

The purpose of this policy is to outline how Goodyer Travel has established measures to protect your privacy and information rights.

Here at Goodyer Travel we take your privacy very seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your enquiry and/or booking and to provide products and services you have requested from us.

Goodyer Travel will not share your information with third parties who are not relevant to your booking or enquiry and only authorised staff within the business have access to client data in our office.

Your rights

We recognise that you have rights as a “data subject” and that we have an obligation to uphold these.

This privacy notice aims to outline how we maintain these rights.  In particular it outlines:

  • How we collect and process your information
  • Why we do this
  • How you can exercise your rights
  • Who to contact in the event you’re unhappy with our performance

Depending on why we have collected your information, your information rights could include:

Right to be informed

This encompasses the obligation for us to be transparent in how we collect and use your personal data

Right of access

You have the right to access your personal data and supplementary information

Right to rectification

If the information we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete, you can request to correct this

Right to erasure

You can request we delete or remove personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing

Right to restrict processing

You have the right to request we cease processing your data, if:

  • You consider it inaccurate or incomplete
  • Where you object to processing and we are considering whether we still have a legitimate interest to process it
  • Where we don’t need the data for the original reason we collected it, but may need it to support a legal claim

Right to data portability

Where you have consented to our processing your data, or where the processing is necessary for us to deliver a contract, you can request a copy of that data be provided to a third party in electronic form

Right to object

You have the right to object to our processing under certain circumstances.  For example, you can object to:

  • Processing for purposes of research and statistics

During an enquiry we may need to collect data such as names, addresses, dates of birth, telephone, email, family details including children

We collect this information so that we can look into the enquiry you have requested from us and provide you with the information and quotations you have requested

This information may be shared with third parties relating to your enquiry, such as:

  • tour operators
  • airlines
  • hotels
  • car hire
  • excursion providers
  • insurance

During the booking process we may need to collect data such as names, addresses, dates of birth, telephone, email, family details including children, health/special assistance requests

We collect this information so that we can confirm the booking you have requested from us

This information may be shared with third parties relating to your enquiry, such as:

  • tour operators
  • airlines
  • hotels
  • car hire
  • excursion providers
  • insurance

Advanced passenger information

This is required by some tour operators and airlines and may be a condition of booking before travel.

Examples include:

  • Passport information
  • Address details
  • Next of Kin information
  • Emergency contact details e.g. telephone and email

We pass this on to the relevant tour operator or airline for your booking so that they will release your holiday tickets and/or boarding passes.  We do this on your behalf to help your booking run smoothly and provide you with the travel services you have requested

Transfer of data

We collect your personal information for the purposes of booking the travel services that you have requested. This information, including any information about any health or medical issues that you tell us about and your passport details if required will be sent to the suppliers who will be providing your travel services. These suppliers may be based outside of the EU where the protection of personal data may not be as strong as it is in the EU.

Retention of Data

We will keep your data only for as long as it is necessary for the particular purpose or purposes for which we hold it unless there are any legal or operational reasons to hold it for a longer period. At the end of that period the data that we hold will be securely destroyed.

Securing your Information

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy notice.

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers or the suppliers that are fulfilling your booking. This includes staff engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your booking, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data and have contractual processes in place with our business partners to do this, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site. Once we have received your information, we will use relevant procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
